Thonet Flex 2000 Chairs by Gerd Lange
23 available
Flex 2000 chairs designed by Gerd Lange for Thonet in 1973, combining moulded black polypropylene shells with a bentwood frame and rounded solid wood legs. The continuous seat and back shell is supported between the dark wooden side frames, with black cylindrical connectors carrying Thonet markings at the upper joints. The chairs combine the material contrast of moulded plastic and stained beech with a compact, architectural construction characteristic of Lange's 1970s work. Thonet markings present.
The chairs are structurally sound and stable, with no visible cracks, structural repairs or missing components. The black plastic shells show light to moderate surface wear, including scratches, scuffs and areas of rubbing, particularly around the edges and on some seat and back surfaces. The wooden frames and legs show scattered scratches, abrasions and areas of finish wear consistent with use. Condition well depicted in the photos.
