Shipping policy

At Cherry Cargo, we are committed to delivering vintage furniture worldwide in a safe, reliable, and fully insured manner. Here’s everything you need to know about our shipping process:

Handling Times

Orders are typically prepared and shipped within 72 hours of order confirmation.
For larger or more complex shipments, preparation may take 5–7 business days to ensure safe packaging and transport.
All stated timeframes are indicative and not binding, unless otherwise confirmed.

Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are automatically calculated during checkout based on the size, weight, and delivery address of the item.
If multiple items are ordered, combined shipping costs are applied automatically where possible.
The final amount, including VAT (where applicable) and delivery charges, is displayed before order confirmation.
Customs duties, taxes, and clearance fees outside the EU are determined by local authorities and remain the responsibility of the buyer.

Delivery Methods and Times

We ship using two principal methods, depending on the size and characteristics of the ordered items.

Standard Shipping (Postal)

  • Used for items within postal service limits (package size up to 70 × 70 × 100 cm and 31.5 kg).
  • Typical for chairs, sofa modules, lamps, coffee tables, and smaller furniture.
  • Items may be disassembled and shipped in multiple parcels to comply with postal restrictions.
  • Shipments are dispatched as insured priority packages via national postal carriers. Once in the destination country, final delivery is performed by the local postal service.
  • Delivered locally by your national postal carrier. List of national postal carriers can be found here.
  • Average delivery times:
    • Europe: 5–10 business days
    • USA/Canada: 7–15 business days
    • Asia: 10–18 business days
    • Rest of the world: 15-25 business days

Freight Shipping (Pallet)

  • Used for oversized or heavier items such as sofas, beds, cabinets, wardrobes, shelving systems, and larger sets.
  • Freight transport includes:
    • Road freight (within the EU): approx. 1–2 weeks
    • Air freight (international): approx. 1–2 weeks
    • Sea freight (LCL) or container shipping (FCL) for wholesale or bulk orders of 25+ items, arranged individually prior to ordering.
  • Standard freight service includes curbside delivery, meaning the item will be delivered to the nearest accessible point outside your address (such as the curb, driveway, or loading area). The driver is not responsible for moving the item inside, unpacking, or assembly.
  • Additional services, such as white-glove or in-home delivery, may be arranged on request and at extra cost.

Delays and Delivery Failures

Buyers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address at checkout. Cherry Cargo cannot be held responsible for delays or failed deliveries resulting from incorrect or incomplete address information.

Returned shipments resulting from unpaid customs duties or import fees, refusal of delivery, or recipient unavailability after multiple delivery attempts are not eligible for shipping cost refunds. Any re-shipment shall be charged at the applicable rate.

Delivery times are indicative and may be extended due to customs procedures, carrier delays, or other circumstances beyond our control.
If delivery cannot be completed due to an incorrect address or the recipient’s absence, the costs of re-delivery will be borne by the customer.
If the package is not collected despite delivery attempts and notifications, Cherry Cargo reserves the right to cancel the order and retain costs actually incurred in relation to shipping and return.

Based on years 2022.-2025.:

  • 92% of orders arrive within the stated delivery estimate
  • 98% of orders arrive within 30 days of dispatch
  • Only 1 in every 550 packages is lost in transit (0.18%)

Insurance and Risk Transfer

All shipments include full insurance against damage or loss in transit.
If an item arrives damaged, buyers must notify us within 3 days of delivery and provide photographic documentation to support an insurance claim.
Risk passes to the buyer at the moment the goods are delivered to the address provided, or to a person authorized to receive them.
If the buyer arranges their own transport, risk passes once the goods are handed over to the carrier.

Packaging

Each item is cleaned, inspected, and carefully packed using appropriate protective materials.
Packaging methods include reinforced cardboard boxes, custom wooden crates, and pallets for oversized freight items.
Cherry Cargo strives to reduce unnecessary waste by designing custom packaging, using recyclable materials, and limiting the number of material types.

Customs and Import Duties

Deliveries outside the EU may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or clearance fees imposed by local authorities.
These costs are not included in the item price or shipping cost and must be borne by the recipient.

Returns and Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumers)

Consumers in the EU have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving a reason.
Returned items must be sent back within 14 days of the withdrawal notice.
Return shipping costs are borne by the customer.
Refunds are processed within 14 days of receiving the returned goods, provided the items are in their original condition.
A reduction in refund may apply if the goods show signs of handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and functioning.
The right of withdrawal does not apply to custom-made or clearly personalized products, or other categories excluded by consumer protection law.
