Pair of Thonet No. 14 bentwood style chairs, based on the widely recognized café chair typology originally developed in the late 19th century. Unknown production of the 1970s.
Steam-bent wooden frames with characteristic looping backrests and rounded profiles, combined with woven cane seats set within a solid wood frame. The lightweight construction and curved structural elements reflect the traditional bentwood manufacturing method adapted in later 20th century production.
Excellent vintage condition with smaller expected signs of age. The wicker cane was professionally replaced by the previous owners. Due to the replacement being done at different times, there is a slight variation in tone between the seats, which is expected to even out over time.
