Designed by Guido Faleschini for Mariani, the Starblack office furniture series was introduced in 1974 and is documented in period sources from the mid-1970s. This executive desk has a large brown leather-covered top with a recessed aluminium channel running across its width, aluminium edging, and contrasting beige faux-velvet/suede-covered structural panels; the drawer fronts are also covered in brown leather and finished with aluminium pulls. The configuration includes a low filing cabinet and a freestanding drawer unit.

The brown leather is generally well preserved, with localized surface marks and light wear concentrated on the desktop. The beige textile-covered panels show some variation in tone and surface wear, while the aluminium edging and recessed channel have scattered scratches and handling marks. The drawer unit retains its key and aluminium drawer pulls, the locking system is functional.

Professionally cleaned.
