Designed by Giandomenico Belotti for Alias in 1979, the Spaghetti 109 is the armchair model in the Spaghetti collection, which marked the beginning of Alias’s history and is represented in the collections of MoMA in New York and the Triennale Milano. The chair features a tubular steel frame with polished chrome plating, including curved arm supports and connecting elements. Slate blue panels span the seat, backrest and armrests, held in place by exposed tensioning rods that reveal the chair’s lightweight construction. The chairs can be stacked for storage.
Good vintage condition with signs of age and use. The blue panels shows surface scratches, fine marks and areas of wear, with more pronounced scuffing and discoloration to some arm and seat sections. The chrome-plated frames retain a bright finish with light scratches, localized oxidation and surface wear. The tubular frames and tensioning elements appear structurally sound, and all four chairs retain their Alias markings.
