Designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa in 1969 for Cassina, the Soriana sofa is formed from generously padded upholstery held in place by an exposed metal clamping structure. The deep, button-tufted seat and backrest have rounded, gathered edges that create a continuous upholstered volume, contrasted by the polished metal bands and curved supports. The brown velvet emphasises the folds and contours of the upholstery, while the low black casters keep the sofa close to the floor. The Soriana design received the Compasso d'Oro in 1970.

A pair of matching lounge chairs is available separately.

Excellent vintage condition, with the original brown mohair upholstery remarkably well preserved. The fabric retains its rich colour, soft texture and full, well-defined padded form, with virtually no visible signs of wear. The armchair is structurally sound, and the polished metal clamping structure retains its reflective finish, with minor surface scratches and wear around the undersides and fittings. The black casters and underside show minor surface scratches and signs of use.

Professionally cleaned.
