Pair of postmodern geometrical armchairs designed by Karl Friedrich Förster for KFF, Germany, 1980s. Förster founded KFF as his own manufacturing company, and this model reflects the experimental furniture design of the decade, combining architectural structure with Memphis-influenced geometric composition.
Square-section steel forms the outer frame, legs and armrests. The seat and back are separate bent plywood panels finished in a translucent blue stain. The backrest passes through the arm frame and is fixed to an inner steel support. The seat curves slightly upward towards the front edge.
Very good vintage condition. The black-finished steel frames show minor wear consistent with age and use. The plywood has light surface scratches and small areas of edge wear, including a more noticeable scratch to one seat and one backrest, visible in the photographs.
