Plywood and Ash Dining Chairs Attributed to Molteni
1 available
Set of four Italian dining chairs from the 1970s, attributed to Molteni, constructed with curved plywood seat and back shells veneered in ash and solid wood frames. The shells curve continuously from the seat into the rounded backrests, while the frames feature square-section legs, raised side rails and visible finger-jointed corner construction. The design is in the style of furniture associated with Afra and Tobia Scarpa for Molteni during the period, although their authorship of this particular model has not been confirmed.
Good vintage condition with cosmetic wear consistent with age and use. The plywood surfaces show scratches, fine marks and localized finish wear, with small chips and abrasions along the edges and corners of the backrests, seats and frames. Structurally stable and sound. Two of the chairs have slightly lighter-toned wooden frames than the other two.
Professionally cleaned.
