Plywood and Ash Dining Chairs Attributed to Molteni
1 available
Set of six Italian dining chairs from the 1970s, attributed to Molteni, constructed with curved plywood seat and back shells veneered in ash and solid wood frames. The shells curve continuously from the seat into the rounded backrests, while the frames feature square-section legs, raised side rails and visible finger-jointed corner construction. The design is in the style of furniture associated with Afra and Tobia Scarpa for Molteni during the period, although their authorship of this particular model has not been confirmed.
Good vintage condition with cosmetic wear consistent with age and use. The plywood surfaces have scratches, fine marks and areas of finish wear, with abrasions along some frame edges and corners. There is a more pronounced localized loss to the edge of one backrest, alongside smaller areas of edge wear to the plywood and frame. Structurally stable and sound.
Professionally cleaned.
