Plia Folding Chairs by Giancarlo Piretti for Anonima Castelli
1 available
"The symbol of a new era focused on plastic." This is how the Plia chair was presented when designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Anonima Castelli in 1967 and introduced at the Fiera del Mobile in Milan. The folding chairs combine a chrome-plated steel frame with transparent smoked-colour ABS plastic seat and backrest, joined by Piretti's distinctive three-disc folding mechanism. The combination of transparency, exposed mechanics and tubular steel gives the chairs their characteristic lightweight appearance.
Good vintage condition with visible signs of age and use. The transparent plastic has extensive fine surface scratches throughout, while the chrome frames show smaller scratches, marks and localized areas of surface wear. Hairline cracks are present in the plastic underneath the seats; these are not visible during normal use and do not affect the stability, folding mechanism or functionality of the chairs. The price has been adjusted accordingly. The four chairs retain their original smoked transparency and distinctive chrome construction.
Professionally cleaned.
