Pair of armchairs designed by Kazuhide Takahama for Gavina, Italy. The design combines a rectilinear upholstered body with an exposed stainless steel frame that wraps around the sides and continues into sled-style feet. Broad armrests, a deep seat and low proportions emphasize the geometric form, while the external steel structure remains visible at the sides and rear. These examples retain their original Gavina labels and have been professionally reupholstered in olive-green fabric.
Structurally sound with no visible movement to the frames. The chairs have been professionally reupholstered in recent olive-green fabric, which remains clean and well fitted throughout. The exposed stainless steel frames show light surface scratches and minor wear consistent with age, including a small nick to one rear crossbar and light wear to the lower feet. The upholstery shows slight softening and minor distortion along the upper edges of the armrests, visible in the photographs.
