Designed by Gae Aulenti in 1976 as part of the Orsay seating collection and produced by Knoll International, this two-seat sofa combines a lacquered extruded steel frame with leather upholstery in a deep burgundy tone. The continuous frame curves around the sides and front of the seat, forming integrated armrests and legs, while the loose seat and back cushions sit within the open structure. The matching burgundy finish across the frame and upholstery gives the design a distinctive monochromatic appearance. The Knoll label is present beneath the upholstery.

The sofa is in very good vintage condition. The leather upholstery shows creasing and surface wear consistent with age and use, including light scuffs and small marks on the seat and back cushions. The burgundy lacquered steel frame has scratches, scuffs and chips, with localized paint loss exposing the underlying material, particularly along the armrests and lower legs. The detail photographs show the most noticeable areas of wear; these are localized and do not reflect the overall condition of the sofa. The leather remains intact, with no visible tears or seam damage. Structurally sound and stable.
