Maia Chairs by Giotto Stoppino for Bernini
1 available
Designed by Giotto Stoppino and produced by Bernini in Italy in 1969, the Maia chair combines a sculpted, moulded ABS seat and back shell with a chromed tubular steel frame. The continuous metal structure curves around the shell and extends into a low, closed-loop base, creating a distinctive contrast between the smooth organic form of the seat and the linear geometry of the frame. This example retains its original-looking exposed, glossy shell finish rather than an upholstered covering.
Very good vintage condition, with expected signs of age and use and an attractive patina on the off-white plastic shells. The shells show light surface scratches, scuffs and small areas of discolouration, visible upon close inspection. The chrome frames retain a polished appearance with small areas of finish wear. Structurally stable with no cracks.
Professionally cleaned.
