Iconic ‘First Chair’ by Michele De Lucchi for Memphis Milano Collection
1 available
Iconic 'First Chair' designed by Michele De Lucchi for the Memphis Milano Collection in 1983. Introduced during the early years of the Memphis movement, the chair became a defining example of postmodern design through its expressive geometry, contrasting materials, and sculptural composition.
Tubular metal frame in a matte silver finish forms a continuous circular back structure, intersected by two black spherical elements. A bright blue circular backrest panel and a glossy black round seat create bold chromatic contrast, while the four slender cylindrical legs maintain a light structural presence beneath the graphic upper form.
Very well preserved with expected signs of age. Surface scratches present on the seat, visible only under certain angles. Three surface scratches on the backrests professionally repaired. Structurally excellent.
