Dining Chairs Attributed to Ilmari Tapiovaara
1 available
Set of six elegant Mid-Century dining chairs featuring a solid beechwood frame with cylindrical legs and stretcher details, paired with dark brown leather upholstery.
This model is attributed to Ilmari Tapiovaara for La Permanente Cantù, sharing an identical structural design with documented originals by the manufacturer. However, unlike the original models which feature a hanging leather sling seat, these chairs have a structured seat with an internal base, giving them a slightly firmer and more supported sitting surface.
The design-with its rolled top edge, exposed joinery, and softly sculpted proportions-reflects the refined balance between Scandinavian clarity and Italian craftsmanship typical of La Permanente Cantù's 1970s production.
In good vintage condition with expected signs of age, as indicated in the photos. Some creasing, scratching and scuffs present, as noted in the photos.
