Danish mid-century side table by Digsmed, dating from the 1960s, with a round teak top and a folding tripod base constructed from turned wooden uprights, diagonal braces and metal chains. Its rounded solid-wood members, visible structural logic, restrained joinery and the almost architectural treatment of the frame are reminiscent of Hans Wegner's approach to Danish furniture design. The underside is stamped Digsmed Denmark 201.
The table is structurally stable, with the wooden frame and joints intact. The teak shows signs of age and use, including light scratches, marks and surface wear, with two more noticeable marks to the tabletop. The metal ferrules and chains show oxidation and surface wear consistent with age and use.
