This example was produced by the Italian manufacturer Alivar after Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's Barcelona Daybed of 1930. It is not a Knoll production. It features a hand-tufted black leather cushion with leather-covered buttons, supported by a black steel frame with polished tubular steel legs and leather suspension straps beneath the mattress. A cylindrical bolster cushion is secured with adjustable leather straps, allowing it to be positioned along the frame. The construction closely follows the proportions and detailing of the original design.

Very good condition. Structurally sound. The black leather upholstery shows light creasing and minor surface marks consistent with careful use. The black-coated frame has small chips and paint losses at the exposed corners and tube ends. The leather suspension straps and bolster fastenings remain intact and functional.
