french-postmodern-armchairs-with-polished-metal-sides-1825-b
French Postmodern Armchairs in Polished Metal

These 1980s custom-made French armchairs combine broad polished metal side panels with black upholstered cushions and cylindrical armrests. The rectangular metal sides extend from the floor to the armrests, creating a box-like structure that contrasts with the rounded seat and back cushions. Green-coloured circular fittings at the backrest pivots introduce a contrasting detail to the combination of black upholstery and reflective metal. The design has affinities with late-20th-century modernist and Postmodern furniture, although the designer, manufacturer and production date remain unidentified.

In very good vintage condition. The armchairs show scattered scratches, scuffs and surface marks on the polished metal panels. The black upholstery has surface wear, including small abrasions, scratches and marks on the seats, backrests and armrests. Both chairs are structurally stable.

Professionally cleaned.

Width: 60 cm / 23.6 inches
Depth: 67 cm / 26.4 inches
Height: 77 cm / 30.3 inches
Seat Height: 47 cm / 18.5 inches
Weight: 23.3 kg / 51.4 lbs
Dimensions are indicated per piece.

Sold as a pair.

May be partly disassembled for shipping.
